1) Wardrobe matters
Not only for the obvious aesthetic, but also for comfort. A comfortable baby is a happy baby. Consider temperature, setting, season, and even clothing fabrics and fit for baby’s photo shoot.

2) Timing matters
If there’s one thing I have learned over the past 15 years of photographing babies from Greensboro to Raleigh and beyond, it is that as a baby photographer, I work on baby’s time. Baby is boss when in front of my camera. I want baby happy, fresh and smiley which means I work on baby’s schedule.

3) Experience matters
Find a photographer that has an extensive portfolio of the type of portraits you desire. This is so important - you want to be sure your photographer can capture these fleeting moments for you and your family. A photographer with vast experience photographing babies knows:
